While visiting Artarmon, we noticed an old-school takeaway shop selling Mediterranean and traditional café food. After our rather disappointing trip to The Yeeros Shop, we decided to take our friend here to give these yeeros a go.
The interior of the shop looks very similar to some of the takeaway shops I’ve come across in more rural locations. It really made me feel like I was in a country town. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to listen to requests because even the extensive menu can’t cover everything they have on offer.
The Salad Sandwich that my girlfriend ordered could have been a comprehensive salad by itself without the bread! Watching the lady make the sandwich, it was fascinating to see the variety of ingredients she was putting into the salad. With the extra avocado, it was definitely big enough to fill my girlfriend up.
My Beef Yeeros came out after a short while with a large serving of shoestring fries. What I really liked about this yeeros was that the beef was further sautéed on the hotplate with onions. This, along with the fresh salad and caramelised onions, set the yeeros apart from your average kebab.
The European Piatsa was an unexpected great find in Artarmon. Though the decor leaves a lot to be desired, I found the food to be full of flavour, generous and at a great price. I would definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area and looking for a cheap, no-fuss meal.
