After our giant meal at Won Jo, we were in the mood for some dessert to wash down our dinner. So off we headed to Red Pepper Bistro at the Strathfield Sports Club for their seasonal menu item bingsu (shaved ice). Advertised as being “shaved like noodles” and “chicken mate” (LOL), they offer many flavours of shaved ice from matcha to red bean and, of course, mango.
The Mango Shaved Ice we ordered was quite a large serving and perfect for sharing between the three of us. The ice was, indeed, shaved like noodles and topped with almond flakes. Interspersed was the (probably canned) mango and chocolate brownie! It was an interesting combo that brought a delicious end to our adventure in Strathfield.
While there, we saw giant share plates of fried chicken and other Korean favourites. The smells of the food floating past almost worked up our appetite again and the place itself was packed! We’ll definitely have to come back and try their food next time.
