Thai Riffic is a slice of Bangkok in Westfield Sydney’s food court. We recently took advantage of a Groupon deal for half price noodle dishes ($7.50 each) and set ourselves up for a Thursday night dinner.
Craving something spicy, I ordered the Tofu and Vegetable Laksa. My initial impression of it was very positive. I liked how they used the proper noodle combo: Hokkien and vermicelli noodles. The tofu was fried to give an extra crispy, tasty exterior, perfect for soaking up the sweet, spicy laksa soup. This was one of the best Thai laksa’s I’ve had in a while.
My girlfriend had a craving for Pad See Ew (the real reason why we were here) so she ordered it with tofu and vegetables without the egg.
The rice noodles were cooked perfectly, absorbing all the sauce and having a pleasantly light charred flavour from the wok. The sauce also gave the fried tofu a caramel-like flavour.
We found the service to be quick, efficient but polite. The food court was busy but we were able to quickly find a seat near the shop. The serving sizes were huge, filling both of us up to the brim! The fried tofu pieces and that sweet, spicy laksa soup were the stars of this dinner. We found Thai Riffic to be one of the better Thai food chains around. If you’re doing some shopping in Westfield Pitt Street, we can recommend Thai Riffic for a quick and easy meal!
