The students who study at Macquarie University are spoilt for choice when it comes to food. When I was in the area for lunch, we went to the campus hub food court to explore our options. I decided to try Taste Baguette & Grill because of their vegan options and Campos coffee. Taste Baguette describes themselves as “A French love affair with Vietnamese cuisine” and I’m always in the mood for a good bánh mì.
I love Campos coffee because of their consistency and the rich and creamy flavours of their coffee. For lunch I ordered the Crispy Tofu baguette. The baguette is filled with crispy marinated tofu, lettuce, pickled carrot and radish, spring onion, cucumber, coriander and a soy dressing.
The baguette was very crispy with a very nice crunch when I bit into it. The tofu had good flavour but I would have liked it to be a bit crispier. The veggies were crisp and fresh and I was satisfied with the amount of filling. The pickles were done perfectly.
I was very satisfied with my baguette from Taste Baguette & Grill and next time I’m in the area, I definitely won’t pass them up as an option. It also seems they have healthier options than some of the other vendors in the food court.
